Every United Heartland customer is mailed a Customer Satisfaction Survey each policy year approximately 6 months into their policy. And we continue to monitor our customers' satisfaction through quarterly mailings to randomly selected customers to gauge our ongoing progress. Our response return rate is more than 50%. Quite exceptional for this type of mailing.

Overall satisfaction consistently ranks above 90%. With those kind of scores, you may think we could lose our edge. But nothing could be further from the truth. Every comment received is valued, researched and acted upon. Only through continuous improvement, can we provide continually better service.

Lower Costs

The Loss Prevention and Claims management practices used at United Heartland can produce remarkable savings for our customers. A recent review of our largest clients, with us for four-years, showed that they saved 30% on their workers' compensation costs through experience modification reductions alone.

To illustrate our approach to cost savings further, the chart below shows how our average claim cost compares with the industry in Wisconsin and Iowa. These results further exemplify well-managed claim control and demonstrate that our process works. Better control of the experience modification, the factor that ultimately determines your premium, means lower claim costs and lower premiums.

Medical Bill Management


United Heartland's aggressive medical bill management and case management provides real savings for employers. The chart below shows the savings we have produced from managing medical costs by closely monitoring each bill we receive and paying charges appropriately and accurately. Savings from case management in avoiding extended treatment and early return to work would be in addition to the savings reflected below.
